The New Year

It is, perhaps, pretty silly to pick an arbitrary day to begin making positive changes. What should stop us from starting all over on any given Tuesday? There is no wrong time to begin eating more kale, reading Foucault, or wearing pants less often (or whatever your resolutions may be).

I resolve to begin again and again and again, as many times as I may need. I resolve to mess up and keep starting over, and to give myself the permission to be imperfect. That will probably take more courage than to constantly strive for perfection.

I resolve to write and draw and journal. I find my general life satisfaction increases five fold when I do. I think it’s because I’m recreating my life story, controlling my narrative. Writing my own story is such a fabulous exercise– at the end of a frustrating day, I end up writing about the meaningless joyful things that truly matter.

Amen to that! (and that, and this, and that….)
I’m just being silly. But yeah I totally agree with what is said here!
